From the Global Signature to Higher Signatures
نویسنده
چکیده
Let X be an algebraic variety over the field of real numbers R. We use the signature of a quadratic form to produce “higher” global signatures relating the derived Witt groups of X to the singular cohomology of the real points X(R) with integer coefficients. We also study the global signature ring homomorphism and use the powers of the fundamental ideal in the Witt ring to prove an integral version of a theorem of Raman Parimala and Jean ColliotThelene on the mod 2 signature. Furthermore, we obtain an Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence for the derived Witt groups of X with 2 inverted. Using this spectral sequence, we provide a bound on the ranks of the derived Witt groups of X in terms of the Betti numbers of X(R). We apply our results to answer a question of Max Karoubi on boundedness of torsion in the Witt group of X. Throughout the article, the results are proved for a wide class of schemes over an arbitrary base field of characteristic different from 2 using real cohomology in place of singular cohomology.

In this paper, we propose an approach for automatic generation of novel intrusion signatures. This approach can be used in the signature-based Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDSs) and for the automation of the process of intrusion detection in these systems. In the proposed approach, first, by using several one-class classifiers, the profile of the normal network traffic is established. ...
متن کاملNatural scene text localization using edge color signature
Localizing text regions in images taken from natural scenes is one of the challenging problems dueto variations in font, size, color and orientation of text. In this paper, we introduce a new concept socalled Edge Color Signature for localizing text regions in an image. This method is able to localizeboth Farsi and English texts. In the proposed method rst a pyramid using diff...
متن کاملUse of the Shearlet Transform and Transfer Learning in Offline Handwritten Signature Verification and Recognition
Despite the growing growth of technology, handwritten signature has been selected as the first option between biometrics by users. In this paper, a new methodology for offline handwritten signature verification and recognition based on the Shearlet transform and transfer learning is proposed. Since, a large percentage of handwritten signatures are composed of curves and the performance of a sig...

One of the basic problems in signature verification is variability and differences apparent on patterns of signature even for an individual. Signature segmentation to basic components, in addition to the access to the stable features, the hidden differences are revealed between genuine and forgery patterns. In this paper, signature patterns of two-dimensional are segmented by using dominant poi...
متن کاملEvaluation of Local and Global Features for Offline Signature Verification
In this paper we evaluate the impact of two stateof-the-art offline signature verification systems which are based on local and global features, respectively. It is important to take into account the real world needs of Forensic Handwriting Examiners (FHEs). In forensic scenarios, the FHEs have to make decisions not only about forged and genuine signatures but also about disguised signatures, i...
